Throughout my 48-year art career, my work has been influenced by where I live (the Hunter Valley NSW), where I’ve travelled and what I love. The many moods of the Australian landscape along with flower studies are my subject matter. I paint in oil, acrylic and pastel.
Over the years, I’ve received over 200 awards for my work. It is represented in the collections of the Museum of Art and Culture Lake Macquarie and the Maitland Regional Art Gallery and books about my art career are in the collections of the University of Newcastle and the City Reference Libraries.
I once painted under the name “MERRAN CORK”. These days I simply sign my work “MERRAN”.
Although most of my paintings are small, I’m happy to discuss the possibility of doing larger commissioned work.
