Susan Eve is a mainly self taught artist based in Lake Macquarie NSW Australia.
Becoming a finalist in The Lake Art Prize 2020 was a highlight in Susan’s art journey, which began with a lifelong love of art and creating. After exhibiting her pen and wash drawings locally in the 1980’s art took a back seat for a while until an introduction to soft pastels reignited her passion and she began showing her work again, this time on the Central Coast of New South Wales. After returning to Lake Macquarie, Susan exhibited around the Hunter region before joining the Newcastle & Lake Macquarie Art Society in 2011, to meet like minded people and be a part of their regular exhibitions. She joined Lake Mac Artists & Creatives at it’s inception and has remained an active member of both.
Susan works in a variety of styles and while working mainly with pastels, pencils, pen, and acrylic paint, she has recently also enjoyed discovering inks and mixed media. Her love of nature is reflected in her work, and the beauty of it’s colours, textures and flowing lines are undeniably Susan’s greatest influence. While her inspiration comes from the world around her no two pieces are ever the same, and she is thrilled and proud to have her artwork in people’s homes throughout Australia and the world.
