20/02/2018 – The first general meeting of the year was a big one, and we were pleased to welcome Barbara Nanshe, guest judge at our Charlestown Square exhibition to present the awards to all our prizewinners. Barbara (pictured above with winner of the Joe Punshon Silver Palette Award, Janet De Vris) took time to discuss each of her choices as she presented the award, and her valued opinion was most appreciated. The raffle for Christine Whipper’s wonderful painting was also drawn at the meeting – congratulations to John McBride who has the winning ticket (#12459). The People’s Choice competition proved to be one of our most popular with a record number of entries. Congratulations to Nerida Mark whose entry for Robyn Spruce’s “Mother & Calf” was drawn as the winning entry. The most popular painting in the People’s Choice went to Kaylene Gayner for “On The Reef”. Our final winner on the day was Pat Burns, who was most surprised to win the Random Prize open to all artists participating in the exhibition.
