20/7/2019 – At our July general meeting we were once again treated to a wonderful display by prominent Newcastle artist and member, Annie Palmer. Annie shared her love of palette knife painting with us, demonstrating various styles and techniques using different shaped knives. Her effective paintings and enthusiasm inspired us all, and many of us left feeling eager to try more knife work in our own paintings. Thanks again Annie for a most enjoyable demonstration. Later we were brought up to date with plans for our next exhibition, to be held at Lake Macquarie Fair, Mount Hutton next month. Due to major renovations which have taken place at the shopping centre last year, we have not been there since 2017 and are looking forward to setting up once again in this now much larger centre. This year we have been allocated a shop so will have plenty of space for lots of paintings in what is shaping up to be a fantastic exhibition. Lake Macquarie Fair was one of our earliest venues for an annual exhibition so it will be wonderful to be there again to see our regular supporters. More details soon….
